Existing unused performance structure at the South of Power Line Way entrance of USDAN Summer Camp in Wheatley Heights NY, is re-purposed and designed as a Sports and Activity Center by Builtd in 2018, named “The Shed” is currently in the process of planning and documentation. Objective of the design is creating optimum flexibility on the layout in order to serve a variety of games and activities in different size and ages of student groups. With that purpose, the main area was divided into 3 smaller courts for games such as volleyball, football, basketball, tennis, badminton etc. When used all together becomes a full court, this layout allows for all kinds of alterations such as, having 3 different games and groups played at the same time or merging 2 of the courts for a full size volleyball game and using the third one for football or badminton, or using half size for 2 half basketball courts etc. The seating area is also flexible on demand with the use of portable bleachers. The court area could be fully surrounded by bleachers, or seating section could only be used for active courts and the remaining areas could be used for other recreational activities.

Gaga pits, indoor climbing, 4 square and quidditch are some of the games integrated in the layout.
Recreational areas around the court and around the structure, feature integrated games in the design such as gaga pits, indoor climbing, 4 square and quidditch. Using the existing structure and roof, project by Builtd adds a storage room for all the portable equipment used to be stored in the winter. As well as repairing the existing floors and the roof, new design proposes a transparent addition in the middle section of the roof to maximize the use of natural light.
